ABOUT
The roots of the Humboldt Highlanders go back to the 1980s to a street band in Eureka CA named the North Coast Pipe Band. Led by Rob Jeffs, they regularly joined up with members of the Shasta Scots Pipe Band in Redding, CA (now the Jefferson Pipe Band) performing at various parades and events in the Northern California area until the mid 2000s, when many members moved out of Humboldt County.
The return of a few of the original members, plus the addition of new blood, saw the old street band resurrected to become the Humboldt Highlanders Pipe Band in 2014. They now perform regularly in the Community at festivals, fairs, public ceremonies, weddings and memorials. They recently appeared onstage with The Chieftains at the Van Duzer Theater in Arcata CA and have competed at the Sacramento Valley Scottish Games.
